Ring W1438 Exciter

The W1438 exciter ring (also called an ABS tone ring) is used in conjunction with wheel speed sensors to generate the pulse signal needed by the ABS control module. As the wheel rotates, the teeth or profile on the exciter ring pass by the sensor, causing changes in magnetic flux that the sensor translates into a speed signal.
